Robert is listed as dying of wounds on 13th October 1916 at one of the 16 Military Hospitals that used Etaples Military Cemetery for its burials. The 12th Battalion war diary does not contain specific casualty details and therefore we have not been able to identify when or where Robert was wounded and therefore cannot provide any information about the events leading to his death.
